REASON FOR FASTING INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
1. Consecrate yourself to God and to draw nearer to the Father. (Exodus 34) (Psalms 69:9-16)
2. To present yourself before the King and reestablish relationship with God (Esther 4:16)
3. Establishing a covenant with God. (Acts 10 The Passion Translation) (Isaiah 58:10)
4. To prepare and strengthen yourself for Warfare. (Exodus 34)
5. To die to self and to turn back to God. (Joel
6. To turn away from Idols (1 King 21:25-27)
7. To seek understanding comfort from God. (Nehemiah 1:4)
8. To prepare for a Kingdom Assignment or while waiting on God. (Acts 13:2-4)
9. Humbling yourself as a leader before God and for protection for newly appointed leaders and the hardships they may face. (Acts 14:23)
10. Liberation from generational curses, demonization, and for self-deliverance. (Daniel 10:3) (Matt. 17:21)
11. For the sick or for healing (Acts 9:9-21)
When Should We Fast?
TIMES YOU SHOULD FAST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- When you are being led by the Spirit to fast (Moses and Jesus) (Exodus 34) (Luke 4:2-4)
- Out of desire and devotion to minister before the Lord and serving others. (Acts 14:23) (Luke 2:34)
- If your being demonized or recognize that you’re allowing something to have power over, you.
- If you allowed something to become an idol in your life.
- Or to consecrate yourself to God for a time. (1 Corinthians 7:5)
How To Fast & What Type of Fast?
All fast should be led and instructed by the Spirit and passion for God. If on medication discussed with your doctor what is a safe Fast for you if you will be turning away food.

TYPES OF FAST
- WHOLE FAST- No Food, No water (Moses)
- NORMAL FAST-Water only (Jesus & Daniel did this)
- Daniel Fast - (No Meat, wine, bathing or lotion which is equal to earthly pleasures and human dignity)
- Consecration of Time (The widow in Luke did this)
- Refusal of entertainment and earthly pleasures (King Darius did this for Daniel when he was thrown in the lion’s den along with turning away food.)
- Finances and Resources given to the poor as offerings to God (Cornelius did this)

Who Should Be Fasting?
Jesus, The Apostles, and the brethren of the earlier Church fasted, and we as disciples of Christ should have a lifestyle of fasting and praying also.
