CULTIVATE

To have foresight is to have discernment, which is to make good judgement. It also means to cultivate. To cultivate (‘abad) is to do work and to make oneself a servant to God and others. The first-time cultivation is mentioned in the bible is in Genesis 2 about the creation of man. As I read these things stood out to me, God was holding back growth and rain because there wasn’t anyone who could cultivate the growth.

Which leads me to believe that if there is lack of growth and heaven has been shut up from an individual, it’s a clear sign that, that individual does not have the capacity to (cultivate). Which is to develop, prepare, and use what the Father is wanting to release upon that individual. This may be a result of bad judgement and not having proper discernment. Discerning what, and making good judgement about what exactly? Making the decision to become a servant and doing the work in which you have faith that God planted you in the earth complete. For we know that faith without works is dead and if something is dying it’s because it has stop growing and is now decaying.

Genesis 2: 5 (NLT)

“neither wild plants nor grains were growing on the earth. For the Lord God had not yet sent rain to water the earth, and there were no people to cultivate the soil.

Planting Seed Where You Are Expecting God’s Harvest!

You are only entitled to the harvest in which you have worked. If you have don’t the work than you can expect a harvest. If you have supported than you can expect to be supported!

1 Corinthians 9:11-12 (New Living Translation)

11 Since we have planted spiritual seed among you, aren’t we entitled to a harvest of physical food and drink? 12 If you support others who preach to you, shouldn’t we have an even greater right to be supported? But we have never used this right. We would rather put up with anything than be an obstacle to the Good News about Christ.

Making The Right Decision (Judgment) On How Much To Give

Usually 2 Corinthians 9:6-10 is used for offering of money, but I want to put it in perspective of giving yourself to others and to God. Decide in your heart how much of your heart, mind, time you are going to give to God, and how much you will give to people. And do it with a servant’s attitude because the Father loves it when in everything we do, we do it as if we were doing it for Him. Because in the end how you represent Him in your life determines how much He pours out in your life and brings increase. Not only bring increase but increase generosity within you.

2 Corinthians 9:6-10 New Living Translation

6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. 9 As the Scriptures say,

“They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”

10 For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.

CULTIVATION STATEMENT

Let us ask God daily for discernment and to see how He wants us to better serve the people around us for His glory. To give us the ability to cultivate the gifts, the people, and resources He has already given us to develop, prepare, and to use so that we may see growth in our walk with Him, growth in the people around us, and increase in everything we put our hands to do for His glory. Let our lives produce a harvest worthy of Him!
