LaTanya Gordon is a native of Milwaukee Wisconsin. After 45 years of residing there, she decided to move to Mesa Arizona where she gained employment at a women’s shelter. Prior to this, Latanya obtained a Behavioral Health License and started a career which led to traveling to group homes and Alzheimer’s & dementia units. To her surprise, God was training her for His divine purpose in her life. Latanya is not an Arizona Native, but upon moving here to Phoenix she saw the amount of homeless, and even more so homeless veterans, and it broke her heart. She felt she had to do what she could to help! This inspired her to be a part of The Robert Essix Foundation.
With a vision, she truly believed she could do it. Latanya put her trust in God and asked for help any and everywhere she could, and God gave her what she needed to make it happen. Now Latanya's vision has come into fruition and is growing rapidly. She has multiple homes with warm beds, hot meals, and televisions for homeless veterans, but most importantly, she can provide each individual with a peace of mind and a safe place to begin to restore their fragile lives. There is no greater Love, than to lay down her life for humanity.
