TRUTH 3: FASTING IS A DOMINO EFFECT ON YOUR PRAYER, PURSUITS, AND PURITY.
Fasting is a great way to change or improve our prayer lives, change our appetites or pursuits, and live purer. Not saying that fasting fixes all our problems, but the moment you begin fasting it begins to affect the rest of your life.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (Amplified Bible)
14 and My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.
God’s order for purity and healing from sin nature is too fast, pray, seek His face by diligently pursuing after Him as your necessity and desire and turn away from the things you were pursuing and making your preferred desired. Then He will hear your words, forgive you, and heal your body and your appetites. He will add supernatural healing to your natural efforts to afflict your soul of these things.
TRUTH 4: FASTING RESTORES OUR HUNGER FOR GOD.
Fasting effects your appetites and resets your hunger for God. Over time holidays, family situations, and life happens to us, and we get cold towards God. Sometimes we get familiar with God, other of us we get too comfortable and drift by default. If you leave fire as is and do not feed it, it doesn’t get hotter, it gets cooler, it gets smaller and smaller, and dies out. This is the same condition of the human heart.
Because we are not God, we don’t have the ability to sustain ourselves in ourselves. We need help, we need the Holy Spirit. He lives within us, but we need to fan the flame.
How Do We Regain Our Passion?
1. Remember when you were on fire and what you use to do,
2. Repent of what you allowed to come and be a distraction,
3. Go back and do the works you use to do. Pick back up your passion.
